Does it hurt?We do not want pain, but rather a feeling that the tension is being worked on. Your therapist will adjust the pressure according to your comfort level and check in often. If you receive cupping therapy, the cups can be "burped" after being placed to release suction if too tight. I always want you comfortable and relaxed so the nervous system can go into "healing mode."

How often should I schedule?Starting massage therapy is like first wearing braces- You might be a little sore in the beginning and your teeth will not be straight in one day. Same for bodywork, it takes time for years of tension to relax and have space to create good body awareness. Once a week is recommended to start and slowly tapering down to 1-2 times a month for maintenance. Your body will start to respond, building "good muscle memory" and getting back to balance. Every 2-3 weeks is the most common maintenance routine.

Do you take insurance?I do not work directly with insurance companies- but I do work with my clients for reimbursement of their therapy. You primary care doctor can fill the form below. If your doctor prescribes massage therapy but your network does not have the therapy I offer; you can pay out of pocket and be reimbursed for your visits. We invoice your insurance after 8 visits for your reimbursement.

How long do the cup marks stay?Everybody is different. Depending on how well you stay hydrated, diet, and lifestyle affect the markings. The cup marks do not hurt and usually stay about 1-2 weeks. Your therapist will explain everything before and during your session to ensure you are comfortable and understand the process. Cupping for lymphatic massage will NOT leave any marks. If cups are used during your lymphatic session, they are too gentle and not left stationary to cause any marks.

What is Reiki? We are all balls of energy in skin suits I say! Our chakras are deeply related to the four forms of life energies: physical energy, mental energy, emotional energy and spiritual energy. These four forms are interrelated and overlap each other. When things are out of balance energetically, it can manifest physically as warnings of out of place. Chakras play an integral role in balancing these four energies keeping our mind-body healthy; when properly balanced, our chakras contribute to the immune system and enhance the body's ability to heal itself. The spine itself is like a giant lightsaber or energy that radiates power for the rest of our body. The Reiki massage I perform is combined with massage and crystals that help guide the energy to its proper channels and assist in grounding.

Is there parking?Right across the street from my building: The DOCO EAST GARAGE (located on 7th and J street) is open at all times for retail, restaurant, and Cinemark parking including during concerts, games, and events at the Golden 1 Center. There is also street parking available; Merchant Alley is recommended.

Do you make house calls? On a special case basis, I often go to clients that cannot make in into the studio. The same amount of time and care is spent although there is an extra $60 charge. I would be happy to arrange a pick up and drop off service for special needs. My table is very comfortable and my building is 100% accesible. The therapy you recieve in my stuio is unmatchable.

What kind of oil do you use?Everything in my studio is 100% Organic and of the highest quality ingredients. The cream I make is a blend of my own: Mango seed butter, coconut oil, and grapeseed oil with a hint of lavender and mint. It's hydrating and super gentle on the skin with amazing properties!
